As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to lead our GTM strategy and expand Nova Solvers' presence across the defense, intelligence, civil space, and commercial space sectors.

Position Overview

The Director of Business Development will lead the development and execution of Nova Solvers' GTM, business development, and sales strategy across defense, national security, and government markets. This executive-level role is responsible for driving growth within the DoD, IC, NASA, and major defense prime contractors.

The successful candidate will identify strategic opportunities, cultivate executive-level customer relationships, lead capture efforts, and expand Nova Solvers' presence across the national security and commercial space sectors. Working closely with executive leadership and engineering teams, this individual will help shape long-term growth strategy while positioning Nova Solvers' advanced spacecraft avionics, sensing systems, onboard computing, payloads, and mission technologies to address emerging customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Nova Solvers' GTM, business development, and sales strategy across defense, national security, and government markets.
  • Lead end-to-end capture of government opportunities, including pipeline development, opportunity qualification, capture planning, teaming strategy, proposal development, contract negotiation, and post-award growth.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities across FAR-based contracts, OTAs, SBIR/STTR, BAAs, IDIQs, and other federal acquisition pathways.
  • Develop and execute account plans and campaign strategies aligned with priority customers, Programs of Record, and emerging mission needs.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with senior leaders across the defense, national security, intelligence, and space communities to identify and advance strategic opportunities.
  • Develop strategic relationships with defense primes, commercial space companies, technology partners, and system integrators.
  • Establish and negotiate teaming agreements, CRADAs, strategic partnerships, pilot programs, and long-term program engagements.
  • Partner closely with engineering and executive leadership to translate mission requirements into differentiated technical solutions, product roadmaps, and winning proposals.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to RFIs, RFPs, BAAs, SBIR/STTR solicitations, and other competitive procurements, ensuring alignment across engineering, pricing, contracts, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Maintain a disciplined CRM pipeline, including opportunity forecasting, bookings, and growth metrics.
  • Provide VOC insights that influence product strategy, technology investments, competitive positioning, and long-term business strategy.
  • Represent Nova Solvers at executive customer meetings, industry conferences, technical demonstrations, trade shows, and government engagement events.
  • Monitor defense, IC, civil space, and commercial market trends to identify new opportunities and strategic growth initiatives.

Work Location

This position is based in Torrance, California. Hybrid work flexibility is available based on business needs. For exceptional candidates, a fully remote work arrangement may be considered. Regular travel throughout the United States (up to 50%) is expected.
