The Role

Nova Solvers is seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to lead the administration and execution of the company's security program in support of classified government and national security programs. This role will be responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable security regulations, managing personnel and facility security activities, and serving as the primary liaison between the company and government security representatives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with experience supporting cleared facilities and classified programs within aerospace, defense, intelligence, or other high-security environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the company's facility security program in accordance with NISPOM and customer requirements.
• Serve as the primary interface with government security agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage personnel security processes including clearance submissions, visit requests, indoctrinations, and debriefings.
• Maintain security records, documentation, and compliance reporting requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Conduct security awareness and annual refresher training for employees.
• Manage physical security measures, access controls, visitor procedures, and secure workspaces.
• Support classified contracts, proposals, and program activities.
• Coordinate government inspections, self-assessments, audits, and corrective actions.
• Ensure proper handling, safeguarding, transmission, storage, and destruction of classified information.
• Investigate security incidents and implement corrective actions when required.
• Advise company leadership on security requirements, risks, and compliance matters.
• Support compliance with CUI, export control, and related government requirements.
• Coordinate with program managers, engineers, and leadership to support mission execution.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience supporting security programs within aerospace, defense, intelligence, or government environments.
• Experience supporting cleared facilities and classified programs.
• Thorough understanding of NISPOM requirements and facility security operations.
• Experience managing personnel, physical, and information security programs.
• Experience processing and maintaining security clearances.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strict confidentiality.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Facility Security Officer (FSO) certification.
• Experience supporting organizations with Facility Clearances (FCLs).
• Experience using DISS, NISS, NBIS, and related government security systems.
• Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, intelligence community, or national security programs.

• Competitive salary: $180,000 – $275,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise.

Location

Torrance, California

This position is primarily onsite to support classified operations, facility security requirements, and customer engagements.

Security & Export Control

To comply with U.S. Government export control regulations, applicants must be (i) a U.S. citizen or national, (ii) a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), (iii) a refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, (iv) an asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or otherwise eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens.
